The longest offensive play for Iowa was the 20 yard penalty against ISU at the end

Long year, Whiskey, NW, ND, lost as well today. It's not a conference game for us and we can make changes. Iowa still has a great defense and special teams. Can still win if Kirk and company can decide that Spencer is not the answer. Hell I'm fine going with Joey. At least his mistakes will be learning opportunities.

If you are going to make a change at QB that's the game to do it. But if history is an indicator of past behavior Kirk likes to play his chosen QB in these game to make them look better than they are. I don't see him changing. We will beat Nevada with or without Petras playing well. Kirk will than say he led them to a win no need to change. Petras played a smidgen better than last week and maybe he is a smidgen better next week. Incremental growth folks.

From a David Eickholt tweet:

Kirk Ferentz: It’s not going well for Spencer or anybody on the offense, if making a change is the best thing, then that’s something we will consider.

Kirk Ferentz on Spencer Petras: He isn’t getting enough help right now to do a fair assessment.

Could have somewhat of a point. That wasn't a stellar ISU defense. Could you imagine 2015 if Ruddock was the QB? CJ made his own plays a lot, but did have more to work with for sure.

Confirmed by Podolak, Dolphin, and KF on post game. Big 12crew. Not kidding
KF said as much after the game to Ed and Gary, too. Something to the effect of "I guess they do things a little differently in that conference" and he didn't mean that as a compliment. I am curious, for those watching at home, was Monte's run a TD? Was that sideline clown pass out of bounds?

Agree the D and special teams are elite. But we all seen what happened on the 99 yard TD drive by ISU. Heck, even the announcers kept saying it. D was totally gasses. Not going to win a lot of games when the D is on the field 40 min a game.

Definitely a TD. I'm personally 50/50 on the pass. May or may not have bobbled it, shin down, etc. Snapped it so quickly that I don't think they showed more than 1 angle. I could be completely wrong about that.
