David Baker from Indiana who I think we really liked and at one point seemed to be in the lead for now is projected 100% to Indiana by 247. When is the last time we recruited a top receiver. Not that we can't find a sleeper and have in the past but seems like we just have no chance at highly ranked WRs.

I think going back to Keenan Davis was when things really went sideways. He should have been featured and really used a lot. Instead Iowa featured KMM. Nothing against that guy but when you stand those two guys together on a football field which one would you think a qb would rather go to more? To have wasted a talent like him was really deflating to the program at that time.

Davis dropped a hell of a lot of passes as well if I remember correctly and did not run all that good of routes. I specifically remember the OT ISU game at Lames where he dropped a slant pass that would have been a huge play if not a score.
KMM was "featured" because he was able to reliably catch the ball. From what I remember after Davis' sophmore year the progression in his ability flattened out. It reminded me of Glen Worley on the basketball side. I really wanted him to turn into something and he did not, he wasn't the first and won't be the last.
