Good stuff, thanks for the post. Anxious to see brooks at iowa. I realize that he will be a fresh at an upper weight but am still ready to watch his progression.
 


Thanks for the update. Good showing by the Iowa boy's and future Hawks in both Greco and Freestyle.
Iowa Blue freestyle team is loaded this year! Hopefully they beat Missouri in this evenings session.
 


Congrats to Iowa on making the final! Up against a very tough Illinois squad for first. Meyer vs Brooks is worth the price of admission alone!
 


Awesome job! Looking forward to Meyer/Brooks. I think Brooks takes it, he has been wrestling lights out.
 


Southeast Polk fan/resident here: good to see our two boys (Clark and Meyer) representing well--both undefeated!
 


Meyer was dominating Krutchmer before he got caught in that headlock. Alex had a good lesson taught to him in that match. Love Jr Duals. Great competition!
 






that is an interesting win for meyer. burak and brooks have both been more heavily touted than meyer. obviously its freestyle, but it reminds me of the hype around nate moore and mcd is just another name on the recruiting class. or even nick moore's hype then Kelley beats a few times in the red-shirt year as a lesser touted recruit. this doesn't take anything away from brooks but shows that meyer isn't destined to be a room filler.

Thanks for sharing! Meyers looked really aggressive and just keeps getting better. Look forward to watching both compete for the Hawks in the near future!

Clark also wrestled a good match and came up just a little short in his match against Cortez.

Hawks definitely have a bright future with the recruits they have arriving on campus this fall.
 




is Sammy in the lineup next fall? Cory is the real deal - and 1 year away after mcd wins his 3rd.

Brooks is very likely to redshirt. While Clark is very good he will have to be able to beat out Thomas Gilman if he wants to take the 125 spot after McD. He might have to wait 2 years and take over for Ramos at 133.
 


Gilman handles Clark pretty easily right now. You never know what the future holds but for now it looks like 33 for Cory.:"
 




While Clark is VERY good & has a nice future infront of him, Gilman is on a whole different level!!! Gilman has all the tools to be just as good if not better than McDonough and barring any injuries he will be our 125lber of the future. Kid is a STUD and in my opinion the best lb. per lb. wrestler we signed this year. He reminds me a lot of a smaller version of Metcalf.

I personally think Gilman will have a much better career than Clark will at iowa. However McDonough might go down as having the best career in Iowa wrestling history. Let's slow down on the "could be as good or better" talk. let the kid go to an official practice first.
