JOSH JACKSON WINS JACK TATUM AWARD AS NATION'S BEST DEFENSIVE BACK

Kirk and Phil will identify developmental opportunities for him so he'll be ready for the next level.

Those things he may knock without playing another season. Or he may need another season.

The fan in me hopes its the latter

Hopefully he sticks around 1 more year, unlikely though.
I hope he does too! Has anyone seen or heard his possible draft stock round? I thought King was being talked about a first rounder by now in the 2015 season. My fear though is he won't repeat King's mistake but then again I believe King was true to his mother in keeping his word for a Diploma and hats off to him for that!

For what it's worth both Mel Kiper and Todd McShay from ESPN have him ranked in their top 25. He's taller and faster than King and isn't expected to move to safety at the next level so I think his value would hold a lot more steady if he came back than King's did.

The thing with King is that he was never going to change the biggest factor in his draft stock: speed. Sure, he ran a 4.5 at Iowa's pro day, but that still didn't stop him from falling to the 5th round because teams were still worried about that. I highly doubt the situation would have changed had he left a year earlier, considering he still projected as a 1st rounder throughout the 2016 season. In fact, he may have been taken even later, as one could argue 2015's class of DB's was deeper than 2016's. Fortunately for Desmond, he's showing why that was a dumb decision with his play for the Chargers.

As for JJ, he has the raw athleticism that the NFL wants and needs in CB's right now, and the man-to-man skills as well. He could work on his zone coverage and physicality in the run game a little, but honestly, I really don't think he has much to gain from coming back. I think it will boil down to whether or not he wants to finish his degree, and if he wants to finish his time as a Hawkeye.

This is how I feel exactly, well put.

When you get evaluated as an early entry, the NFL gives you 3 grades....1st round, 2nd round, or "go back to school"....King's grade his junior year by the scouts was "go back to school", regardless of what talking heads like Kiper and McShay were saying....
