Josh 3 point Oh...

I said it before the season.... The 3 point shooting will be the difference between being a really good and a great team and Josh is the guy we need to fill that role.

It felt like I just watched a great team full of weapons and I'm also getting the feeling that when Josh lets a 3 go, I'm shocked when it doesn't go in.

I can't say I've been his biggest supporter the last two years but he had a nice game today and he deserves credit. I don't expect this kind of performance every game but if he can shoot 40% or better from three he would be a huge asset for this team. It was nice to see this from him. I had kind of given up on him ever being a big contributor even though he's played well this season. Just give us a consistent good performance and nobody will remember all the criticism and you'll be a beloved player in the annals of Hawkeye Basketball.

lurking until he goes 0-5 some game

And since they don't understand basketball they won't appreciate his defense, passing, ball handling, etc. in said game. He helps us when he's not scoring. McCabe played an outstanding game today...just didn't score like Oglesby did. I love both of them...always have.

FIFY. There wasn't any pressure on those six 3's at Indiana. Now he looks comfortable regardless of the pressure.

I'm just going by statistics 38% 3pt shooting his freshman year and 60% atm this year.

This "pressure" thing well maybe maybe not - that's all purely conjecture - unless you have some kind of mind reading device on him.

We can debate whether or not that's actually why he didn't hit clutch shots and lit it up in blowout situations. But that doesn't change the fact that he padded his numbers in situations where those shots didn't really matter. It also fits with the narrative of him being a lights-out practice shooter, despite not showing it with any consistency on the court.

He hit plenty of big shots today under pressure.

You always do this. How many other players do you actually try to break down into "clutch shot" and shots that "don't matter". He had a terrible year last year, but he shot OK his FR year. This whole I'm not gonna count certain shots is just idiotic.

why are you such a downer... sometimes, when you do something for too long (12,000+ posts) you lose perspective... walk away from HN for a few months or a year, then come back with some enthusiasm about hawkeye sports. You will feel better and thank me later.
