Because it was a Rebuilding year.
Not buying it?

Because we had a New QB.
No? Not valid answer because we see first year qb's all over the country succeed? Some even true freshman? And we actually had a dedicated qb coach this year. (Who actually did a good job IMO).

Not too hard to figure out. These guys played defense, Defense was seldom the problem this past year. Or most other years, for that matter.
