Some Poster on Rob's site is stating that we're showing interest to this 2011 RB. Here is a link to his youtube page.

He looks very impressive. On the first play in the video my jaw hit the floor because of his speed. I don't know how he would play against defenses with speed in college but he looks blazing fast in those highlights.

There is some interest in him but it looks like he is waiting on us. We are probably waiting on Wright.

I think he might actually get an offer even if we get Wright...if you watch this kids defensive highlights, he looks like he could be one heck of a CB with a little bit of coaching. If we don't get Pitts/Hendy/CyKo, I'd expect him to get an offer regardless of what happens with Wright.

Wow. It's not just his speed, he runs tough.

I loved when Damian Simms would spell Albert Young in the second half of games. Defenses didn't know what him em... Simms was through the hole and gone before anybody could lay a hand on him.

Canzeris could play a similar role off of Coker or Coe. We can't have enough speed.

He looks like a winner. Very fast, keeps his head up, can't comment on breaking tackles because no one gets a hand on him. I would love to see him a Hawkeye.

Poster on Insider site says he committed to vill. today and Iowa offered 30 minutes later. Sounds like the timing was a little off on this one unless he changes his mind.

I think the offer may have been a direct result of his committing to Villanova. It seems like Iowa likes to offer these under the radar players late in the recruiting period in order to keep other schools away (case and point Wisky offering every kid we do). I'm guessing we've been interested in him for quite a while and now that he is ready to commit we come with an offer. Hopefully he realizes how much more we have to offer over Villanova and decides to join us.

exactly what I was thinking too. we were going to offer all along, just didn't want allow other schools to use that as a reason to pursue him.

Yeah ... I think that the commitment to Villanova forced the hands of the coaches.

A particularly cool thing about Canzeri is that the coaches clearly like him as an ATH. I think that they probably can see him at SEVERAL positions ... including RB, DB, and possibly even WR.

Quite frankly his background kinda reminds me of a shorter but faster version of Amari Spievey. What Hawk fan wouldn't like to see such a guy become a Hawk!? Of course, one could also argue that they see plenty of Damian Sims and/or Freddie Russell too ... and I couldn't argue with that either.

If he ends up a Hawk, I'll be really interested to see what position he ends up at.

He just said this and it looks encouraging for Iowa.

“It would be a dream. I have always thought of playing big time football. The Big Ten is always on ESPN and they maybe play the most competitive football in college. All my friends would get to see me if I played at Iowa down the road on ESPN. It would be a dream come true.”

Iowa offered now pull the trigger.

Any word on when Wright is supposed to make up his mind? Sounds like Canzeri doesn't want to get left out in the cold if he comes to visit Iowa and Villanova pulls his scholly and Iowa gets Wright instead.

Free article on Scout says that UConn offered today as well. They are trying to get a mid-week visit and the Hawks want him in this weekend.

Sounds like an exciting time in the life of that young man.

Jordan
Iowa has a 4* running back visiting this weekend. I would accept Iowa's offer now before they run out of openings for RBs. If you want to play big time football here is your chance. I would react now before the opportunity disappears.
