I really enjoyed it! Listening I felt like I could place myself in the stories that he was telling, pretty cool Jon! I also like how he called out Steve Deace on the Exhibition game comment albeit nicely but still glad he mentioned it. I have purchased tickets to North Texas to take my 6 year old son to his first game ever at Kinnick and we will be taking the Hawkeye Express and he can't wait! Hell I can't wait even though I have been to both ISU games this year should be fun :)GO HAWKS!!!

I enjoyed it as well. Anytime you're trying to turn around the direction of a program, no game is a "meaningless exhibition". You only get 12 chances per year to lace 'em up....so every game carries quite a bit of meaning. Even the N. Texas game coming up has quite a bit of meaning. If we can put them away early and get guys in the 2nd and 3rd team some live game reps, that will pay dividends down the road. A guy like Akrum Wadley needs a game to quiet the Fumbling Demon. Mitchell hasn't played all year and could use the reps as well to get ready for B1G play. Weigers is one hard hit on a QB scramble by Beathard away from being the "Next Man In" and could definitely use live game reps. And guys like James Daniels, Cole Croston, and Eric Simmons can use some extended minutes on the Oline as well.

Great job on the podcast Jon.....and you're right, if you weren't there in person, you just can't explain how "beautiful" that walk out onto the field by Greenwood, flanked by Angerer and Doyle, really was!

Very good podcast. Enjoy the game Herkeye, first game at Kinnick will be a special memory for your little guy. GO Hawks!

Great listen. That podcast really summed up the elation everyone in that stadium felt after that win. Walking downtown postgame there were impromptu cheers of 'I-O-W-A' and humorous jabs at Ohio State. It was awesome. This team is showing fight and trying new things to win. Since the Orange Bowl, Iowa has had many ups and downs with more of the latter. It's fantastic to see an Iowa team play united like this. It's also given a collective sigh of relief of Hawkeye fans expecting the worst. Relief has turned to joy and pride. Go Hawks.

Also fwiw, I was the person who made that comment about Nebraska's defense. In my 'defense', I misread the tweet and thought Jon wrote the remaining best teams, not team defenses. Nebraska's defense should only scare Nebraska right now.

Agreed I hope that we can get ahead and get the backups some valuable time and let starters rest and get ready for Wisky! Yep I think my boy will be amazed at the train and Kinnick especially. He loves his Hawks!

My first trip to Kinnick was against Texas El Paso in 1986. I was 9 years old and saw Iowa score 69 points. Hope your son gets to see a similar showing. To this day I'll never forget being amazed at Kinnick and the sea of people there.

Iowa is in no position to treat any game as an "exhibition." We all know that....except Deace. We need to win Saturday against North Texas, because it is a game that we CAN win. Pitt was a big game because we were playing a team as good as many of the teams in the Big Ten. In fact, Pitt BELONGS in the Big Ten, in my humble opinion.
