I see John is projected to start at 157 for Old Dominion. Does he still pose a threat to DSJ?

Why not? Was that just a fluke match a few years ago? What was Nicholsons record while redshirting. Did he wrestle last year?
John posted a 20-8 record during his redshirt year against D1 opponents. Wins over Weatherman 3-1, Zilverberg (Minn) 3-0
according to nwca John did not wrestle any matches last year at ODU. I think he was out with a shoulder injury.
That match against St. John was not a fluke John came out and took it to Derek for 6 minutes. That being said I am not sure that John has progressed as much as Derek since high school, Derek would be a favorite if this match took place this year.

Nicholson is a very good wrestler and will have a good year and career at ODU. That being said, I don't think that he could hang with Derek St John right now. To be fair though, I don't think that many 157 pounders in the entire nation will be able to hang with DSJ this year. He is much better right now than he was in March and he was awfully good down the stretch!
