KC Chiefs QB coach (Jim Zorn) was just interviewed on 1550 ESPN Radio (St. Joseph) and raved about Stanzi. Not sure that this is earth shattering news :) but he did say he would get a lot of work in Pre-season games. He said Stanzi's season will be the Pre-season. He said he has a long way to go but very pleased with what he brings to the table.

Just thought I would share that. Like I said nothing earth shattering but nice to hear about the pro Hawks. I work here in St. Joe so I am heading over to Chiefs camp to check things out and with some luck and my Iowa shirt on I might snag a Moeaki and Stanzi signiture.
 
Who else is on the roster at QB? I know Palko and Stanzi are fighting for #2 behind Cassell. Is Croyle or anybody else around?

As of right now the Chiefs only have 3 QB's on the roster. Cassel is obviously #1 and then you are correct....there is Stanzi and Palko after that. No more Croyle.

Kind of crazy to think Stanzi could be a Cassel injury away from leading the Kansas City Chiefs!

I believe Moeaki is on the physically unable to perform list (surprise). Wish that kid could catcha a break. One heck of an athlete

Yep he is on the PUP list as of now but it doesn't sound like its as serious as that sounds.
 
For what it's worth, Peyton Manning is also on PUP list. That list doesn't really mean much in the pre-season. Being a Chiefs fan, it has been a while since I've been excited for the season to start with influx of Hawkeyes on the team and the team getting younger and faster. For most of my lifetime the Chiefs seem to have always been the oldest team in the league.

I really think we could see a whole different Stanzi in a couple years. We got a good taste in bowl games of what he is capable of doing when given time to prepare for a game. Now, he won't have the academic responsibilities to tend to and will be able to spend even more time focusing on football. I would not be surprised one bit if he becomes a potential starter 2 or 3 years from now.
