Jewel MVC newcomer of the year

It's funny to see that even with Greene, Hampton had 475 yards and 7 tds. Maybe some people were on to something about giving a second back carries....:rolleyes:

It's crazy how he actually ran to the line and hit the hole unlike a certain hesitant runner we have now. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Coker but only once he gets past the line.

I'm happy for him. Hopefully he continues to make the best of his newfound opportunity & realizes that he made his own bed here.

I absolutely loved his game and was hugely bummed when I learned he was leaving...

Saw jewel play at UNI this year. Looked solid. Could have been ridiculous on a good team as his was not great.

Thats why iv been begging for KF to play Mccall. He explodes to the hole and has way more speed than coker. I felt the same about hampton when i first saw him. I saw alot of potential. And i see potrntial in,mccall. But idk why KF doesnt

You want to explain that comment? Jewel Hampton gave his all at Iowa and paid dearly for it with injuries. If you have some great rumor to start, lets hear it.

no rumor. he was asked to leave and was allowed to save face by saying he was simply deciding to transfer. bad timing to fail a mary test during the whole DJK debacle. 3rd strike and yer out......

Did the coaches run him off with particular policies or treatment or did he just leave??? Either way, Iowa appears to lose a lot of good players...

Was your first clue when he rushed him on to the field in the rain as a true frosh.....

As for Coker I still remember how fast he was after the Insight Bowl when all anyone could talk about was how much better and faster he was than Robinson.....

Oh how the worm wiggles.....

Chad.

PS....not trying to run you up the flag poll, but I suspect something was a miss with McAll because clearly he trusted him early and I imagine at some time we will decide he is slow too. That's how we roll here in Hawkeye land.

??? Hampton ran himself off by not being able to stop smoking weed.

C'mon what's a little weed? If I subjected my body and mind to the battering that them there football players do, I would definitely unwind with some of that maryjuana myself.

Look the other way when it comes to steroids and HGH. Pump em up with gallons of unhealthy protein drinks but whatever you do, DO NOT let them smoke any of that cheeba.

Oh, and let's sell alcohol at our college stadiums and beer ads during our games...

I think my favorite Jewel Hampton play was him decleating that blitzing LB at Arizona. Probably one of the most bad *** things Ive ever seen.

From all accounts Jewel was a solid guy and a hard worker. Probably why he was given the courtesy of leaving rather than being kicked out.

I wonder if it was not for the DJK and Robinson crap if he would have gotten by with a suspension?
