Jaryd Cole's career is a good life lesson for ANYONE

Here's a guy that had the following thrown at him during his career:

1. Not one, but TWO major knee surgeries.
2. Not one, not two, but THREE head coaches.
3. Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR losing seasons.....collectively the worst stretch of losing in the history of the program
4. In the end, had his ONE shining moment.

Throughout it all, he remained extremely positive (at least publicly), showed enough leadership to be a 3 year Team Captain, stuck with the program and gave each coach his all when most guys in his position would have left, and put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears rehabbing two major knee reconstructions. For what......so he could toil through 4 of the worst season in Iowa basketball history? Nope! So he could experience, just once, what he experienced tonight.

Some guys can go their whole life and not experience anything close to what Jaryd experienced tonight. At one time or another, the Good Lord tests us all.......it's apparent to any Hawkeye fan today that Jaryd passed with flying colors and was given his just reward.

We can all take a lesson from Jaryd.

Thanks for everything!!

His character and leadership will be missed next year, hopefully someone will pick that ball up and run with it.
