Jared DeVries to have micro-fracture surgery

Tough break for a great former Hawkeye. The Lions are my favorite team, so I’m disappointed they are closing the door on him. He says he plans to play in 2011, so hopefully he can make it happen.

It must have really sucked through the years to have the Lions as your favorite team. When the NFL season is as long as it is and your team is typically horrible it can make for a long season.

Sucks for Jared.

I had micro-fracture done December 8th. It was supposed to be an easy in and out, clean some stuff up type deal, but when he discovered how much cart was missing the surgeon opted to do the micro-fracture. The worst part was being off of it for a month; no weight bearing what-so-ever.

That's true, but I'm also a Cub's fan and baseball season is even longer. It has helped the Hawks have been fun to watch during football season over the last ten years.
