Jalen Hurd

Hurd is apparently transferring from Tennessee with one season of eligibility left. You'll remember him from the TaxSlayer fiasco. The reason for the transfer is that he wanted to be in an offense that ran more of an I-formation. If only we knew of such an offense that might need such a running back...

Yeah, there's one in the back of my mind but can't quite think who it is...

Even better, he wants to play WR or TE at his new school. OK, fine, but Jalen - how good are you at blocking?

Well he was hoping to have had that change in the offense before this season. Supposedly coaches told him they would and didn't... So now he wants to change positions to be a TE or WR. Thinks it's his straightest line to the NFL. Must have seen how AJ Derby is doing..Ha. More likely he sees himself as a Terrelle Pryor type. Since he won’t be in the SEC next yr I’m not sure where he may go. I’m not sure where he’s originally from or anything. But I don’t see KF taking on a one year rental for a kid changing positions do you guys? Doesn’t seem like something he’d do even if the kid wanted to come. Which I think is a long shot because sure the I formation is what he preferred for running the ball but if catching the ball is Iowa sure wouldn’t be where I’d want to go.

Honest question though but isn't 240 lbs a little to large for a WR, even on a 6'4 frame? I can see TE but not so sure about that size at WR.

How do you not adjust your offense a bit to fit that guy's strengths? He's a good player. Very Ferentz-like
