jaleel johnson update

lots going on today, maurice flemming switching to wr, reason being we need speed there (only listed as 4.5 40 on rivals)
 
Is JJ going to red shirt? Or is there any chance of him seeing the field? I assume it's a long shot but we NEED help in the d-line
 
sounded like he can play right away, and will at the least be in rotation, as long as he does well on his finals in the next couple of weeks. id say no red shirt 99.99%

FWIW-he's been listed as running a 4.40 and a 4.3. He runs the 100 and 200 in track. I'm not sure if he's regained all his speed yet, but I'd think with another 5 months of speed work most or all of it should be back.

Maybe but I but I’ve been intrigued by this Texas speed thing since Davis mentioned it in the presser. They currently have 4 WR’s in the NFL and one Quan Cosby, that really wasn’t even as productive in college as Marvin I don’t think ran a 4.50 combine time and he is also only 5’9”. James Kirkendoll ran a 4.38 and he too was only 5-10ish @ 174lbs and not a real productive College WR and then John Chiles who ran a 4.42 and also didn’t burn up college and then finally Jordan Shipley who was 5’11” and ran a 4.60 combine time and a 4.52 Pro day….so I’m not sure where all this supposed speed was?!?

thats good to know!! maybe he's playing to the ears of opposing D coordinators!?
After watching Vandenburg in spring game, I would consider him to be pretty quick... I was surprised

For the record because I don’t like inaccuracy…Cosby had a nice college career (2598 receiving yards) culminating with 1100 as a SR…

Kirkendoll ended with 1300 total and 700 as a SR.

Chiles had 752 total….

Interestingly it seems all 3 made the NFL as undrafted free agents.

that's not what I meant. I was looking to read more on it besides a tweet, and you said "lots going on today, maurice flemming switching to wr" so I assumed there was an article out there somewhere to read.
