Jake Duzey Throwing Down Dunks

I love the this guy. He will be a big suprise at Iowa. WR, TE, or whatever. He looks the part and I love guys that can run the floor in BB and play FB. Can't wait for him to put on the the uniform.

I have a positive "gut feeling" about Duzey too.

Jon didn't post them because it was Duzey scoring 4 points. He posted them to show Duzey's athleticism on dunks.

He didn't look all that athletic to me. He looked like he was concentrating very very hard and not all that explosive. Not natural.

I agree. It's good that he's sticking with football at Iowa and not playing bball.

For comparison, Duzey is basically the same size as Eric May...May isn't the greatest shooter and his ball-handling is borderline bad, but get him in the open court like that and you will likely get a little show. Duzey gathered himself and...just dunked it.

By the same token, he's also the same size (basically) as Matt Gatens. Both look similar in the open floor...thankfully Gatens can shoot it a little bit. I don't know if Duzey can shoot it, but if it's a clip to show athleticism, I too came away not terribly impressed.

I'd agree up except there is a difference in the athleticism needed for FB and BB.

Duzey: 6'3"-6'4" 215-220

May: 6'5" 220

Pretty close I guess. May is most likely an inch or two taller and not quite as thickly built as Duzey. Duzey should make a fine Hawkeye football player. Jon, what position do you see him at? TE/H-Back LB?

I grabbed some Scout profiles (I think) in comparing the two, so May's could be outdated...plus, I've seen Duzey listed anywhere between 6'3" and 6'5".
 
sounded like there were 5 people watching that game. Pretty unique for a high school kid to have back to back dunks.
 
Yeah hate to say it, but when I think of someone throwin one down, I don't think of a simple dunk like that. Still cool though.
