UI press release:

PASADENA, California – University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz announced Sunday that senior tight end Jake Duzey will not participate in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 when the Hawkeyes (12-1) meet Stanford (11-2). Duzey re-injured his knee during practice on Friday. Duzey had seen limited action in nine games after suffering a major injury during spring drills.

“We all feel badly for Jake and the fact that this injury will keep him from playing in the game,â€￾ said Ferentz. “Jake has worked extremely hard since his initial injury in the spring, and has contributed to the success of our season in a number of ways.â€￾

I don't believe Jake red shirted his freshman year. Can we assume he takes this as a red shirt year and will be back in 2016?

He red shirted in '11 and played in nine games this season. His Iowa career has come to a close.

He just told us Tuesday that he was feeling the best he had post surgery and had regained his explosiveness. K. Ferentz agreed.

Injuries are part of the game but it doesn't make them suck any less.

What a pile of sh!t A complete waste of a senior year. Some meaningless playing time, ZERO catches, and a mountain of minutes logged in the training room. Sounds like Moeaki. Great talent and potential, just cannot stay healthy.
