Jacquille Veii: Iowa or Maryland

With Signing Day closing in, Maryland enters relatively quiet football recruiting stretch run - Testudo Times

Came across this from a Maryland site. From article:

And for a more familiar name, Jacquille Veii seems back in the picture, too. A local athlete who could play cornerback, running back, or receiver, Veii had been committed to Maryland for months before decomitting in December. That had been rumored to be a transcript issue, but if so, it's all fixed up, because Veii's visiting Maryland next week and will choose between the Terps and Iowa come Signing Day. Iowa's interest is nothing new, and he still picked Maryland over the Hawkeyes last time around; so long as there's no bad blood on either side from the decommitment, you'd expect him to do so again.

That last sentence makes me really hope he commits to Iowa. That and the fact that he looks to be a pretty good player.

How common is it for guys to decommit, then recommit? I think we got this kid.

Could be the best Hawkeye name since Yasmine Bleeth.

EDIT: sorry, Bashir Yamini

Probably not often but I am sure it happens with guys like this though. Maryland is his local school maybe playing close so that family can see his cames is important but now that they will be in the B1G it won't be as important, I don't know.

He appeared to be on board but maybe the transcript/grades issue caused his offer to be revoked rather than "decommitting". I think Maryland wanted him all along but only if he grades improved.
