And the season is not even half over. Cubit and Riley and Rhodes have question marks over their head. Poaching time. Which commits would you like the Captain to go after?

I think Cubit gets the job after this year. Riley won't lose his job after 1 year. Any of ISU's recruits would have to be walk-ons at best.

If you're a recruit would you want to sign with those guys over Kirk? See where I'm going?

Why would we poach from UNT when MAC schools are so much easier?

In reference to McCarney being one of the fired coaches, of course!

But in all seriousness, why even bother to go after any unless/until we have any of our commits look "iffy"?

Sure, you never "stop" recruiting a guy. But just because some coaches are gone, I don't think you change up your recruiting "routine" until the "iffy" part(s) come(s).

Riley may keep his job for another year but any 2016 or 2017 recruit has to be asking themselves if they want to be part of that train wreck.

I don't know, if Scott Frost was now interested (keep in mind that he stated he wouldn't interview last season because he wanted to be dedicated to Oregon's title run), then I think kNU would make the move. Frost would likely want some ferentz type buyout language based on kNU's history, but Frost, I think, was always kNU's #1. Riley is in his 60's and if they don't get bowl eligible (even if they win 6 or 7 the fans would want Frost), I could see Riley taking the buyout of a couple mil and retiring.

The ONLY way Nebraska wins more than six is by going to a bowl game. And that isn't going to happen, even if they are one of those 5-7 teams that gets slotted because of APR problems with "qualified" teams.

I will be shocked if Riley lasts past this season. I could have seen it with seven wins. The way it's going now, absolutely no way.

How much money would they be paying out between Bo, Riley and then the new coach? Has a team ever paid for 3 coaches at one time?

Not only that... Does Nebraska really want to be another job on the long list of all these openings? Nebraska is still a good job but it's certainly the recruits of today don't remember the National championship and they are still in small populated state which makes it difficult for recruiting, similar to Iowa. Furthermore, if you're an up and coming coach, do you want to go to a program that just fired 2 coaches in 2 years and will Nebraska pay big $$ when they already will be paying for 2 coaches.

For all those reasons, Riley is staying.

Nebraska made the bed with Riley, now they're going to have to lay in it.....even if said bed is simply a pile of hay in a barn that smells like cow $hit. If they jettison him after only one year, no coach worth anything is going to take that job.

It would be incredible...as in "incredibly awesome"...if they keep him. It would be even better if they kept him for the full term of his contract.

The list of poaching territory grows and grows. I'm not just talkin 2016, Kirk should load up on 2017 kids

Minnesota (Kirk needs to offer Sean Foster)

Nebraska (Riley is sinking fast)

Illinois (Cubit? Really?)

South Carolina (Hey the word south says it all. Go after those kids)

USC (Find some Cali kid who is sick of Jerry Brown)

Mizzou (Just ask the recruit one question: Do you want to attend a racist school?)

Maryland (What recruit wants to dive into this dumpster fire?)

Virginia Tech (Beamer retires and Kirk benefits by poaching Deablo, he's divine btw)

So basically Kirk takes the best kid from each of those programs. Adding 8 ESPN 300 kids is a recipe for multiple national titles. Whose with me????

In light of Golden and Pinkel, I'll add Miami (Fla) and Mizzou to my list. Does anyone have an objection to us over-signing by 5 to 10 players?

We'll find out pretty shortly on Cubit. Riley is not long for Nebraska even if he lasts into 2016. And of course Rhodes is now gone as I suggested.

But most importantly gentlemen. This is a moment in time you'll be telling your grandkids about. THE PERFECT STORM

Iowa is having a great season and the instability near us is cataclysmic.

In the last 365 days programs replacing their coach: All states tangential to Iowa
Minnesota
Mizzou (announced)
Illinois
Wisconsin
Nebraska

And with Rhodes gone and Snyder (I'm hearing) retiring after the season that means nearly every FBS program near us has had turnover. This will help us a little this year. But the real benefit will be with the 2017 class. Kirk looks to go out a winner. 12 months ago who saw that coming?
