It's that time of year again....

It's time to discuss if the Iowa football team could beat Iowa's basketball team in basketball. First we need to weed down the roster of 100 or so guys to about 8-10.

I know off the top of my head Sash would probably be the PG. I've heard KF on many occasions indicate is HS he could flat fill it up. McNutt is probably our SF. A little undersized at 6-4 but he's well known for being a good bball player in HS.

So help me out who else would be playing and where. Do any of the 6-7 280 types have BBall skills in he post?

its been reported that CJ had hoops offers from indiana and wisconsin
sash had a UNI offer to play PG
mcnutt had MVC offers
KMM and Lowery both had mid major hoops offers
a-rob was very good, as was keenan davis
binns started on a good team at CDH

reiff, morris, and klug among others were good wrestlers so you dont want them

Reisner said Herman sucked at Bball yesterday via morehouse.
Was Haganman any good he's tall.

I would add Woody Orne to the mix of players. He was a low mid-major talent out of high school, and I think he could push around a lot of the basketball team on the interior.

OK so we have
C C.J. Fedorowitz 6-7 250
PF Broderick Binns 6-2 265 (short I know but he's got the wingspan)
SF Marvin Mcnutt 6-4 215
SG Keenan Davis 6-3 210
PG Tyler MF Sash 6-1 210

Didn't I read somewhere that Ballard could hold his own in HS BBall?

I think we could find room for 6-5 295 somewhere.

I don't know if it's that time of year again or not but I can tell you one thing. This years team would beat the football squad by 30+ points in any venue.

Well, Donnal is 6-7 and was a 3 year letterman in hoops.
Guthrie is 6-6 and played hoops.
Nordmann 6-6
Vier 6-7
Van Slotten is 6-7

They all lettered in hoops so I think they could form a pretty formidable front line.

I'll bite.

1. Martin-Manley/Sash, Robinson
2. McNutt, Sash,
3. Derby, Haluska
4. Van Sloten, Vier, Donnal
5. Fiedorowicz, Clayborn

They probably wouldn't win, but it would be a lot of fun to watch. I think they'd be pretty salty.

The more I look into this the funner this is getting. Check this out...Not on a moped but still legit.

i forgot about derby. he was really good too. actually at one point he was top-25 nationally in his class. he just stopped growing.

The picture of Clayborn playing against Tyler Hansbrough is really cool. I'm sure Adrian is about to dunk it on him

Who's the kid taking a poop on the other kids leg? #14 in the bottom picture.

Don't forget Clayborn. Remember the youtube videos of him dunking in high school?
Exactly you cant count him out. In all honesty I think the football team could beat the basketball team in hoops just because the football team has the better athletes and they are stronger.
