Seems strange. When I here other players decommit and open their recruiting they always seem to say the school they are decommiting from is still in the process but when they leave Iowa it's cut and dried.
Yeah, definitely no surprise. The first two I would look to is Holmes and Hankins...

Go back to old reliable..stealing recruits from the MAC (unless even they dis us know because they play a more exciting brand than we do!). Should have even more schollies than normal cuz have a feeling we will have more than the usual 8-10 guys leave the program in the next year...

He'll leave if he's smart and I'm guessing he will. You rubes can flame me all you want, but everyone thought Benjamin and Calloway were a sure thing a few short weeks ago and told people who questioned it how stupid they were.
I love the Hawks and always will, but there's no way I'd want my kid to go to a program like Iowa just because of a sense of nostalgia because dear ol' dad was a Hawk. He could go to just about any top 25 team and likely have success and a much better shot at playing Sundays. I wouldn't blame him a bit and none of you should either.
Naw Eppy is as sure a done deal as there is. He's a Hawk. The thing his old man can and I'm sure already has is relay to him that when he first got to Iowa that the program wasn't in very good shape then either. And he was a part of building it back up and how rewarding that that may have been. I'm not saying that's a great or even good thing when just a year ago they were where they were but it could possibly be an angle to where he doesn't see the glass half empty way of looking at things....
First guy to say"That's OK ...we don't want someone who doesn't want to be Hawk" or "Next man up"....needs to be kicked square in the nuts!!! They WOULD want to be Hawks if Ferments knew how to sell the program, and would adopt a style of ball that isn't straight out of the 1930's era.
He will likely be playing Sundays no matter where he goes. If anything, he probably has a better shot at Iowa, not worse.

Iowa can point to the success of Adrian Clayborn, Karl Klug and the 12 year NFL career of Jonathan Babineaux as reasons to stick with Iowa. Early playing time too.
If I'm a WR or a RB I don't blame them for watching Iowa play this year and thinking "hell no".

Iowa's recruiting class is now in the mid-40s by most services and guess who is ahead of Iowa...Iowa State with their first year HC and a 1-8 season so far. Yippee!!!
