This loss not really on D. I don't think Norm helps out on special teams.
Did you read what I wrote? I didn't write anything negative about the defense. I am talking about Norm Parker's leadership, and all of the coaches and players miss his influence, I am sure.
Dude, I'm not arguing that. I agree that his presence is missed. I just don't know if his presence would have impacted today. They overpowered our D. We hung in but special teams killed us.
Yes, you are right. Iowa played for FG's today, and Wisconsin played for TD's. Usually any points are money for the Iowa D, but not today. I also wanted Iowa to go for a big play after Greenwood's pick, because the previous 3 plays were all big plays: McNutt TD, good kickoff tackle, and a Greenwood int. I wanted O'Keefe to go up top, and I think many NCAA O-Coordinators would have taken a shot there.
Agreed. The kill shot there should have been called. For all the good things this coaching staff does it seems they do an equal amount of head scratching actions. The play calling after that INT falls into the head scratching category. Go for the death punch!

Totally agree! I am sure that is an unwritten coaching rule somewhere. Bielema, like Mike Stoops, doubled down on every opportunity, and he was right every single time in this game. He went for the TD, he got the Iowa 1st down reversed, they execute the fake punt, and he outmaneuvered Iowa the entire game. Glad that no more Iowa grads are coaching against Iowa this year.
