It was just ISU...

Act like you've been there before. I wake this up morning and all I see is giant morningwood stemming from beating ISU. I was just as excited for beating South Dakota, but apparently the ISU game was our Final Four judging by the level of bonerism on the topic here.

ISU has won three in a row, and are probably the best team Iowa has beaten this season. They are also an instate rival with incredibly mouthy fans.

If you were just as excited about the South Dakota game as this one, you are the one with the problem. All the other people, the ones having a good time, are normal.

Totally agree! After watching the crap that Lickliter put on the floor seeing some talent with youthful exuberance will make for an entertaining year. Clicheusername is as exciting as his Username.

Go away.

I have read several posts implying the crowd will lift us to a win against Indiana. This is like the antithesis of a football loss, where everyone does into suicidal dispair. We beat one OK team at home, and all of a sudden we're a top flight team again.

Watching fans is amusing.

We have been there before, but it was quite a while ago, and we have sort of forgotten what it was like.

Iowa state played like crap and we only won by 9. I am happy we won, but not entirely happy either. A lot of work to do.

I get the magnitude of the game in football but in basketball it is 1 of 30 regular season games. It's hard to get upset or excited about the game either way. It is just nice to see Iowa play an actual team at home in the non conference. This non conference home schedule sucks. It's really hard to get too excited about going to games with the level of competition Iowa is playing at home.

Go back to the football forum. We beat a very veteran team that has the ability to score points fast. We out-rebounded the team that leads the nation in rebounds. Our young players really stepped up.

Guilty as charged. :D

But damn this win felt good, first the wrestling team, then the women, and the men finished them off. I get tired of Iowa State kicking our arses. It has been a while since the Hawks have given us something to feel good about.

1. We were the reason they played like crap. 2. We shot very poorly in the first half or it would have been a blow out. 3. ISU is a likely NCAA team again this year.

The only thing I agree with is that we have a lot of work to do. That is often the case in December but always the case when you start three freshmen and a sophomore. 60 of our 80 points were scored by freshmen and sophomores. 78 of the 80 points return. ISU started four seniors. That was a big win!

I think a lot of people are excited because it will shut up the ISU fans for awhile. I know I'm glad to go back to work on Monday and not have to hear about how it's a cyclone state again. It gets old real fast.

You get 24 hours to celebrate then it is back to the business of getting ready for the next game. This goes for both the team and the fans. Was it a good win? Yeah, beating ISU is always a good win. It was the first game I've been able to watch this season and I liked a lot of what I saw, but there is a lot of work that this team still needs to do.

Overreacting to non-impressive wins is part of what makes sports fun. **** off meatball.

So fans only get to celebrate for 24 hours as well?

I guess I better go find some old text books and get ready for finals I don't have to take this week since the team is getting ready for finals.

This is dumb.

This is dumb.

Thanks!

It's a win, move on. It really is a good thing the players don't react the same way as the fans. If they did Iowa State would have won by 50 judging from many of the posts/topics after the game.
