ISU schedule

According to ISU fans, ISU has a brutal schedule this year.
To a person, ISU fans say Iowa sucks and is no good so Iowa certainly should not count as a tough game.
Akron is bad.
Kansas is horrible.
Kansas state is very average.
Texas can't beat a bottom feeder from the BIG East and has sucked for a number of years.
Baylor is terrible
Texas Tech is akin to an intramural, 7 on 7 passing team.
That leaves Okie State as a pretty good team.
TCU will be ok good. (OSU will kick their ass in Texas this coming Saturday)
West Virginia will be very good.
Oklahoma will be very good.
and last but not least, Incarnate Word...
So in summary, ISU will pay 3 very good teams this year, and as good as they all predicted that ISU would be this year, 8-4 to 9-3 should be a given. (of course they are behind the curve here as they lost already to one of the crappy teams on their schedule)
As far as their magical season last year? ISU's SOS rank and Sagarin ratings were both lower than Iowa's.

In their eyes, adding Microsoft Word to the schedule was not a good move, because their coach was an ass't coach at Texas Tech for several years, one of which resulted in a stellar 7-6 record.

I think you're missing the point, and you're wrong about playing 3 good teams. The start of ISU's schedule this year is Iowa/OU/Akron/TCU/OSU/WVU. Since you cited Sagarin, that's #14, #3, #127, #18, #15, #22.

Playing 5 of your first 6 games against 5 top 25 Sagarin teams, half of them on the road, is incredibly difficult. The question really is what state will the team be in both physically and mentally after that.

ISU plays #3, #14, #15, #18, #22, #32, #49, #57, #65, #103, #127, and #228
Iowa plays #5, #8, #40, #43, #46, #53, #61, #63, #70, #71, #91, and #93.

You tell me which one is tougher so far.

#1. I did not make the argument that Iowa's schedule is tougher, THIS YEAR. It was, however, tougher than ISU's last year.

#2. If you are going to tell me that Akron is in any way, shape or form, a top 25 team, you are crazy. And I tire of ISU fans continually berating the BIG, somehow thinking that if ISU played in that conference they would have better records. (see Nebraska and Maryland) Also, do you really think Sagarin ratings have any validity after two games? Case in point: Texas is ranked 8 spots above Maryland. Duh. How about we let the season play out and see how good these teams are?

#3. So you believe Iowa is a good football team? If so, you are the "lone wolf" amongst Cyclone fans.

It'll all change as the year goes on.

2 - Akron is horrible, Sagarin has them at 107.
3 - I've always thought Iowa would be a good football team and nothing I saw last week changed that. I do think ISU missed an opportunity and I had zero fun watching that game, but Iowa is a good team. Honestly I think Iowa is 9-3 this year.
