Iowa has moved on. The rep is he's a huge academic risk.

PF: still in contact with Nzei. Staff is involved with Gustys at Oak Hill, and Willie Atwood. Only Nzei has an offer at this point.
PG: Cam Smith. The Juco names that have surfaced haven't resurfaced, so it's not clear whether the staff is still involved with them. The whole Devonte Graham situation is murky -- don't think anyone can contact him until after the Spring.
Of course, only the staff knows who their targets are right now.
There will be a PG and a PF, and Fran's bias has always been for the four-year kid.
Apart from Nzei, it looks like ties have been cut with any kids that were being recruited over the summer (flakes: cunningham, clark, yarbrough).

I would like to see Nzei, he could become a Basabe clone or a Doug Thomas type.

imagine basabe running and leaping like kenyon murray, and you have nzei. his game is raw, and he's limited offensively, but he would be perfect for fran's system. the three things scouts say about him are that he rebounds, outlets, and runs the floor as good as any 4 in the 2014 class -- he might get down the floor the quickest of any 4 in the country on the break.
nzei wants the east coast, big profile school offer. but if he and his hs coach have watched the hawks this year, they should see that iowa is the perfect fit. if he goes to a half-court oriented team, it will emphazise his weak spots. if he comes to iowa, he'll shine.
