Winners? The big ten has one ncaa title in 15 years bro. Bo finally made a final 4. I'd say they've helped usher in the big ten slide in my opinion. This isn't basketball. Once again come tournament time, real talent will prevail. Top High school players want to play ball. They don't want to play this mockery of basketball.
I think back to earlier this season... it was Penn state vs Wisconsin and after the game bo Ryan says to Steven Bardo who played for the flying illini in the hey-day of the big ten and says "let me ask you Steven, could you have played in this kind of physical game?" And without hesitation he says "of course".
I just don't think the younger audience will understand this and bo Ryan won't either. The big ten is an absolute mockery of what it once was. The big ten was sooooooooo good when I was growing up (80's) and even the decade prior (70's). The style of play today in the big ten is not conducive to recruiting the best talent and not conducive to winning on the biggest stage (ncaa tournament). Working officials, hand checking, using your body to defend, flopping, holding, and moving screens are not what the top talent in the country wants to do in college. This is what bo Ryan and Tom izzo bring. Thank God for Maryland. When they get a little more talent maybe things change but as long as these two mob bosses are still here, they'll have the big ten and the big ten will remain down overall.
