For Iowa to actually hire a coach who can X and O at the VERY least in the last 3 minutes of a game???? Not even going to mention why "You know who" was in the game the last 3 minutes....he should have been on the bench. Seriously, when is the last time he has hit both free throws? And what was that at the end with 3. 0 seconds left....did Iowa even realize that they they had enough time to launch a decent shot? It looked as if they thought they were down by 5 and it didn't matter. This team lacks leadership, and it starts with Fran who looked lost in the huddle the last 3 minutes. This season is going to really blow...maybe it's a combination of this and football, but my apathy level is getting to be beyond an all time high. Wake me up when the last Ferentz kid graduates, and when we get our first athletic Guard and Power Forward.

Look it all falls back on Fran because he is responsible for the talent he brings in but I don't think it's an x and o thing as much as a jimmy and joe thing.

They had plenty of open shots the last two games. They missed most of them.

I think you're both right. We need better shooters AND athletes.
This team is top 20 in every aspect of the game except the most important one. Making open shots. If they play the exact same game the last 2 days except make an average number of open shots, we are probably ranked top 15 when the polls come out.
Kinda hard to blame coaching when you do everything good enough to beat number 10 and number 23 except make a decent amount of open shots.
As far as recruiting goes, can you really blame him for bringing in Oglesby who was a top 150 kid? How bout Gesell who was a top 100? If those guys are shooting anywhere near what they should be we would be a great team.

Getting open looks for other players is part of creating and we had no problem getting our share of them.

The pants shittings by Oglesby and Woodbury on 2 of the 3 last offensive possessions was a nice touch, especially for players 3 and 4 years into the program.
