I just looked on the Haweyesports.com site on the right side if you scroll past the sponsors you can vote in a poll if you are attending or not. So, it leads me to believe they are having one. Maybe they are trying to see how much interest there is?

In addition to the spring game? In the past I thought it was always one or the other, depending on the construction usually. It would be great to have both though!

This. I thought the only reason last year was because they didnt have the spring game due to the new field.
I found this tidbit recently at Fight For Iowa | An Iowa Hawkeyes Football Blog . I was wondering about when the open practice would be too because I would like to bring my nephew.
August 14, 2010 - Kids at Kinnick Day (Open Practice)
If you missed a chance to see the Hawkeyes this off-season during the spring "game" then don't miss Kid's Day. It will be the first real chance to the 2010 Iowa Hawkeyes in action. The event usually starts around 1:00 and features a few drills and a light scrimmage.

Thanks for clearing it up.
Apparently, the information I gave earlier is in error. The "Kids at Kinnick" event is Saturday, August 14. However, the start time is noon (not 1pm) and the gates open at 11am. This per the Iowa City Press-Citizen:
