Little Caesar's pays $750,000. It reportedly costs $ 60,000 to play in CBI.
Is an $810,000 economic swing from black to red too hard to understand?
Comparing football with far greater attendance is not a good comparison... The $60,000 would be made up in consession & apparel sales. If we drew say, 9,000 @ at a little over $20 a ticket, which is cheap, we would cover $200,000k. Triple that with tv revenue.
It would make much more money than a regular season game. That's enough for me!
No it is not worse than the Motor City Bowl, in that bowl game you will be playing a mid major. In the CBI you could still end up playing a Pac14 team.
But it embarrasses DTwill.
It does not make much difference Barta is following the company line and the Iowa basketball season is over. No way they get into the RPI, IMO.
You are paying your way into a "tournament." I just don't get how people don't see that for the scam it is.

It is not uncommon for tournaments to require an entrance fee to play in it. Heck they do it all the time in lower levels of junior high.
I don't know why we are still fighting over this, the CBI is not going to happen. Some of you are going to get your wish and Iowa's basketball season is over.
Don't some Big Ten teams actually lose $ attending the lower level bowl games after figuring all their expenses?
