I say yes. What a difference he has made plus for all the naysayers that make excuses about Little Ol' Iowa City, he has done miracles in Manhatten, Kansas. Haden's team were never the same after he and Alveraz left.

Old man winter has done something incredible at that outpost school 2 times now. I would say he is up pretty high on the list of All time great coaches.

I agree. do you notice how fast, athletic, and agile his players are. He has always used junior college recruits as a way to fill the roster.

The kids who play in the jr college and community college ranks have time to get their grades up, get used to college, and practice and play alot.

Coaches can see these former high school stars playing against better competition so the coaches who recruit them have a better idea of how good they are.

I see no reason why KF doesnt fill some holes in the Iowa lineup each year with some transfers.

Yes, it's not hyperbole at all to say that Kansas St was the worst D-1 program in the country before he took over. And he made them into national title contenders...during two different tenures. Barry Switzer is a guy who knows a lot about coaching college football and he has always said Snyder is the best coach in college football history, I think that's pretty close to the truth.

Synder knows he is not going to get a lot of 4 or 5 star recruits like Oklahoma and Texas but he has an incredible knack for finding athletes that fit his system, he may have the best quarterback in the country that no one has ever heard of. I read somewhere that the Stoops boys had a falling out with him and they said it didnt matter because no one liked him. He could care less because all he does is win and his teams are fun to watch. Too bad the Hawks could not have grabbed him when he retired and made him offensive coordinator and associate head coach.

He is one of the best ever. Iowa has more holes then Swiss Cheese, it would take a lot of filling.

In a post entitled something like IS Ferentz the next Tom Davis...I stated Mr. Snyder was the genius behind Hayden. I was somewhat questioned for that remark. I think the proof is in the puddin boys Bill is the man. Too bad Kirk couldn't of got him to come to IC to be OC.

YES, and isn't the dude like 90? They also recruit jucos heavily. Don't we have a great juco fb program in our state? USe them to season the palyers and get live action, then bring em up to Iowa. I sure wish Hayden would have handed the keys to Snyder and taken a job elsewhere.

He has to be one of the top 10 of all time. Kansas State was horrible before Snyder took over and they were slipping fast after he retired.

The guys on KVET's morning show agree. They were praising him this morning, especially how his teams play defense.

Gerg Davids is clearly the finest offensive mind of all time, but Bill Snyder is a close second.

Snyder is a great coach, nuff said. K-State stunk before he got there - he made them into winners, and they fell apart again when he left. I had my doubts he could do it again when they rehired him, but low & behold - they are in the Top 5 this year. As someone else said - guy is a miracle worker.

He's a decent coach, but doesn't K State let anyone with a pulse in if they can play football? I thought their academic standards were so low that they were a safety school for those who couldn't qualify at an SEC school. And didn't their QB get accused of rape or something before a big game and still get to play? That would NEVER happen at Iowa.
