Iowa's Schedule Wasn't Cupcake

Sagarin Football Ratings ranks strength of schedule. Through 11 games, here is the strength of schedule for the top Big Ten teams (out of 128 D-1 schools):

1. Michigan 48
2. Ohio St. 55
3. Minn 56
4. Mich St 57
5. Iowa 58
6. Wisc 61
7. Neb 62
8. Penn St 65

Iowa's schedule was boring (no Michigan, Ohio St., Penn St or Michigan St) but it was't easy or cupcake when compared to the other prominant Big Ten schools.

On the other hand, we will only play 2 teams ranked in the Top 30 of the Sagarin rankings prior to the bowl game (Wisconsin and nebraska).

I agree. This was the most manageable schedule I can recall Iowa playing...next year will be in the neighborhood...opportunities wasted, same as 2012

58th for a power 5 conference school is cupcake. We will have only played 1 ranked team all year long.

What a wasted opportunity we had this year. I don't mind having a soft schedule, just take advantage of it!

I should have posted this in the football forum. So sorry.

My point here is that you don't want to play a schedule tougher or easier than the other teams in your league. Obviously, we didn't. We were right where we should have been, IMHO.
