Iowa's bench was brutal last night

8 points total, 4 assists, and 5 turnovers collectively. Josh O could not get open for 3 looks, Gabe was awful on defense, McCabe continued to struggle, Clemmons was yet again a non-factor, and Uthoff looked lost.

This was the main reason Iowa lost IMO. Gabe plays 7 min, Uthoff 9, and Clemmons 5 because they were so ineffective.

Clemans seems to lack confidence this season. Lets hope this game a blip on the screen for GO & JU. I was surprised at how lost Utoff looked. I think he is entitled to some growing pains. But sure hurt.

A lot of Clemmons' issue, I think, stems from the fact that he's now become the 3rd option at the point behind Gessel and then Marble. I think his confidence is pretty well shot because of it.

He is not doing anything good right now. He made a horrible pass on a fast break that cost Iowa an easy basket.

That turnover he had when he jumped in the air with no place to go with a pass made just shake my head and think "what is wrong with him?" Off night I guess. Happens to everybody.

Absolutely. I think he probably came into this year thinking he could challenge for the starting point guard spot given that Gessel missed the last part of the season with the foot and then was injured during the summer. When he didn't get the starting spot and then has been relegated to the 3rd option at point, I think he's pretty down right now. That's what I see from his face and body language anyway.

One game and against Michigan, perhaps the best team in the Big and last season's title contender, granted that they do not have Burke and Hardaway, but they are very good.....

We have seen the Sophomore slump before haven't we on many teams besides the Hawks. Sapp will get it together. We saw the skills he has last season. They are still there waiting to emerge.....

Agree, I don't think he would have done any worse. Sometimes bringing a shooter in can cause a spark

I think it will help next year when he gets the chance to play through mistakes...more minutes. Losing confidence and then only playing 5 minutes a game makes it hard to get it going.
