Iowa’s Weisman for Heisman – what a story

Oh great...another fluff piece from the Jewish community trying to distract us from Iowa losing and Kirk not going off like a tool!?!?

Lost in the bad loss to CMU was his performance. That is one thing I look forward to is if he can continue to run wild as he has these 2 games. The oline has blocked well.

Yes. Another. But this one was not as cleverly hidden.

Here in North Carolina, the bilboards actually say "GO HAWKS" "EVERY THING IS ROSEY" when I wear those special glasses.

You wouldn't be talking about the high school team that held MSUs Bell to 70 yards and only 3.8 yards a carry would you?

and you failed to mention had 2 Touchdowns on those 18 carries and played only 2 Quarters.. That guy? Oh and MSU won 41-7 exactly what a Big Ten team should do to a High School team.. That team? Pocket that ZING Urban!!

FYI you don't want me to compare JVB vs Maxwell.. :)

give credit where credit is do. People in Ohio noticed that Weisman has been a stud. A they write about it. I think that is a nice little write up.

Not saying it is not. Great pub and totally deserved. I hope Weisman continues to roll, however we start to see a different talent level this week and moving forward.

His performance wasn't lost on me. Having the 21st string RB go off for 200 yds on 8 yds per carry made losing exponentially worse in my eyes.

...annnddd there it is. HP40 in another thread spreading his sunshine view. Every thread that has any positive or hopeful spin....bam....HP40 to give us some cold, hard, reality. lol.

Iowa

Random find here.

I loved that article and ended it with a big smile.

The big story, though, from Iowa’s point of view, is the emergence of sophomore
running back Mark Weisman, a walk-on from Buffalo Grove, Ill. The two running
backs ahead of him were injured early in the season, so Weisman, the son of
podiatrist Dr. Larry Weisman and his wife Ilene......

It is too bad Iowa will not meet Ohio State this year, because that would
have set up an unprecedented Big Ten matchup of Jewish running backs. Fullback
Zach Boren, after limited carries in his first three years as a starter, has
scored two rushing TDs in Urban Meyer’s offense. He is a great blocker. Zach’s
brother, Justin, who transferred to OSU from Michigan, after Rich Rodriguez was
named coach, is on the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad. His younger brother
Jacoby is a true freshman lineman with the Buckeyes. They are the sons of former
Michigan athletes Mike and Hope Boren, who live in Pickerington, Ohio.

There is some more irony in the Mark Weisman/Zach Boren story. A couple of
weeks ago, I wrote about former Indians’ trainer Lefty Weisman, who was with the team in the League Park days. No, there is no relationship between the two
Weismans. But there is one between Lefty and the Boren brothers. Lefty’s son
Jed, a retired Cleveland attorney, is the grandfather of the Boren boys. The
name Jed comes from the initials of the three starting outfielders in the ’30s,
Joe Vosmik, Earl Averill and Dick Porter.

jovial, curious, nerdy, .. soo jewish. LMAO I love it. One of my best buddies is Jewish - from Cleveland. When he and his wife talk about his paraents - it sounds just like the way the article reads.

This shouldn't have made me laugh but it did.

Agreed. Never thought about a battle of jewish running backs. What's next a Jewish all-american team. I don't think the majority of us knew Mark was jewish, let alone cared. Couldn't help but laugh.
