I saw this on another site and am surprised I haven't seen it on here yet. The case ruled on today was Iowa's attempt to block USM from registering their Golden Eagle as an official trademark. I don't really understand the legal ramifications, but I have read that this could lead to Iowa filing a copyright infringement suit if USM continues to use the logo.
