I think we will keep it close enough to make them sweat it out, but never close enough to really take the game over. Lose by 12, 72-60.

Side note: There is more optimism on this board than at any time I can remember. Last month I was the voice of reason defending Fran, this week I'm telling people to temper their expectations...what gives?

Your time of the month?

Your time of the month?

wow, that's really witty...

anyways, just find it interesting that people were breaking ankles jumping off the bandwagon a month ago and now folks are seriously expecting us to win against the best in the conference. i feel like i've been middle ground from the start, how about you?

this is where people like you apparently are only one or the other on the extremes. don't worry, i can still root for Iowa and expect a loss. i don't fall into that one or the other crowd on pretty much anything, from sports to politics.

no one will be as happy as me if we win. i grew up an iowa B-ball fan far more so than football. i was jumping around the house when we beat wisky. its just that my expectations haven't changed following the last three games. there are still going to be bad stretches this year, and probably next as well.

If you read the comments in Jon's article about the game seems the majority expect a close game and a rockn' Carver Hawkeye. Haven't seen many non trolls or otherwise idiotic posters saying were gonna blow them out or even us winning.

I just want it to be close. We are not a huge team but it seems we have played very well in a zone. I think that osu is the best overall offensive team we've played so i think we won't have as much success as we did versus Wisconsin and Minnesota. I would say OSU 74 Iowa 65.

I do think we could pull off the upset if we get sullinger in foul trouble early by being aggressive.

i guess the board after the game will give us a read. it seemed like there were more than a few who were almost expecting a win, before jon's article. not so much today.

I'm sure if we lose that their will be the Gatens/McCabe/May/Fran sucks threads.

OSU isnt extremely deep, however that didnt stop that Purdue guy from going nuts off the bench.

well I predicted 20+ point losses to Purdue, Wisconsin, and then decided to pick if for Minnesota...just to keep the karma rolling....so you guessed it.

OSU by 20+ over the Hawks!!! (now if we lose you cannot say I didn't do my part in keeping the good vibes going)

I would love to see the Hawkeyes pull the upset but I think OSU is too deep and talented, Hopefully the Hawkeyes will make it competitive

As you said they aren't deep but their starting five is talented as shown by the blowout of Duke. Also I don't think they have much in terms of quality back up post players hence I think it's important to go at Sullinger early and often.

I love our momentum but fOSU has a legit top 10 team. They've lost both of their road games this year but that's a little misleading since one was to Kansas and the other was to Indiana.

I think fOSU will be ready for the game and it may get ugly early but we will keep scrapping.

Final score:

fOSU 79
Iowa 65

Honestly, I see this as a sort of let down game for the Hawks. I hate to think that way but I feel they are set back today. OSU comes out and hits them hard. OSU by 16. Hope I'm wrong though!

Gatens with a three at the buzzer. Hawks steal it late. 65-62.

Jon Miller leading "jump around"win at midcourt following a great win.

I think this team will make a valiant effort, but I just get a feeling that the refs will put a real damper on our hopes by knocking McCabe and Basabe out of the game early with fouls. Despite that, we fight on and keep it close: fOSU75, Iowa 66. Just one game and one that really no reasonable Hawk fan would have predicted as a W at the start of the season, so even if we lose, it shouldn't temper our enthusiasm. Long ways to go and a lot of potential wins down the road.
