Moss had a damn good game against Minny. IIRC he was only targeted 3 times.OJ out again.
But I like Iowa getting young guys reps anyway.

1 rec, 5 yards, 1 PBU, 1 INT
He had a PI in the end zone before half that ended up being a good penalty or at least didn’t cost us.Moss had a damn good game against Minny. IIRC he was only targeted 3 times.

If B Smith is 100% then he, ISM and Tracy in the slot need to get most of the 3 wide receiver sets. Ragaini is very good but Tracy seems hot right now.
Ah I figured I missed something. He had a PI in the end zone before half that ended up being a good penalty or at least didn’t cost us.
Come to think of it they really exposed our slot and dime corners (Belton & Roberts) and obviously Koerner had a rough day. Not a ton on the outside.
MN had a ton of passing yards...and 19 points.

This is why yards don't mean shit if you're inefficient on the opponent's side of the 50.
Minnesota first 3 drives of the game had one drive go 12 plays/47 yards and end in a missed 50 yd FG. They had another 12 play/87 yard drive stall out at the 6 and end in a FG. They had a 3rd drive that went 9 plays/50 yards that stalled out at the Iowa 31. That's 33 plays/184 yards and 3 points.
Meanwhile, our first 3 drives went 8 plays/75 yards for a TD. Second drive went 9 plays/68 yards for a TD. 3rd drive went 6 plays/69 yards for a TD. That's 23 plays/212 yards and 20 points.
Later on, Minn had a 12 play/76 yard drive stall out at Iowa's 4 on downs. So they had 4 drives that went for 45 plays and 260 yards that netted them 3 points. That is the textbook description of "bend don't break".
This is why I really don't give a shit what kind of offense KF runs....we just need to be better when we get to the opponent's side of the 50. That hasn't been a problem for us at all this year. Hell, for example, we did that like 7 times against Michigan. The problem is being efficient and converting more of those chances into TDs.
In the two games prior to his injury B Smith had 86 yards and 106 yards with 7 or more catches in each game. I struggle to see how he couldn’t get open.On the WR situation, I think the coaches really like the combination of ISM on one side and Tracy on the other. I really really like Brandon Smith, but we have seen a lot of the B. Smith and ISM combination and neither can get open. But the ISM/Tracy combo with the playmaking ability and speed of both seem to really open the middle of the field for us. They are a tough cover because both can beat you one on one. I would not be surprised if B. Smith doesn't get as many snaps as he did before his injury because of the emergence of Tracy, and much like OM, is a good player that is just behind better players.

I love Tracy as much as anyone but in order to unlock the maximum capability of this offense going forward and into next year we are going to want a lot of Brandon Smith on the outside, of course that’s when he’s fully healthy which I doubt is this week. He’s the physical possession guy. Tracy should work both inside and outside and we should be creative in finding ways to get him the ball. I really hope Tracy gets a shot at the punt return job next season.
I guess I missed it but I didn't realize how few seniors are on that roster. There will be a lot of returning experience. I hope Petras, Mansell are ready .
