I wonder if this means season ticket sales are slow.

Starting on Monday, Fans can buy 3 game ticket mini-packs where they can choose 3 home games total, 1 game from each of 3 groups

1. OSU or PSU

2. Minn or ILL

3. Wyoming or North Texas or Purdue

Interesting that OSU and PSU are considered the top group even though Minn, ILL and Pur are Iowa's division rivals. Purdue getting no respect at all, getting lumped in with North Texas.

Single game tickets are not for sale yet. I guess these litle mini-packs can appeal to a certain fan that can't make it to 7 games but can do about half of that.

Good idea. I know quite a few people (me included) that only can make it to 2-3 games per year so this would meet those needs.

Purdue is a late November game, probably an 11am kick. And they are Purdue! You get amped up for Purdue?

I have purchased these packs many times in the past because I always go to one away game and can't afford season tickets. There are some potentially excellent games at home this year.

I wonder which games would be more popular.

I am not buying a mini-pack, but if I were I think I would pick

PSU, ILL and Wyoming.

PSU or OSU is a tough call, I think I would pick PSU just because its earlier in the season. Same with Wyoming over Purdue. Wyoming because its earlier.

I would take ILL over Minn just because I grew up in SE Iowa just 10 miles from Illinois and I now live in ILL. I know I represent a small percentage of Iowa fans, but I have always considered ILL to be Iowa's #1 border rival. I grew up a long ways from the Minnesota border and just don't have any strong feelings about Minnesota either way.

Yes, of course "sales are down." What else is new? This is a reasonable thing to do once season tickets fell off years ago and certainly aren't expected to bounce back this year.

I like the 3 game packages. I like the opportunity to attend a few games a year without having to make a commitment to go to every home game.
