Iowa to get $24.6mil from B1G

What a benefit.

I have a question here.
Not trying to take this thread in a bad direction either....
How did the Big 12 end up, as far as how their revenue gets divided?
I never paid attention to what all went down exactly during the past couple years.

I'm not 100% up to date on it, but I believe their 2nd tier rights have been negotiated, although I don't believe they'll see the financial impact from that for a few more years. They are in the process of renegotiating first tier rights, which will likely put them ahead of the B1G once that is complete. Of course, once the B1G renegotiates they will be way ahead of the Big 12.

Interesting that Nebraska didn't get a full share. Is that only for year 1...or is there a gradual "vesting"?

Nebraska is not fully vested until at least 2015, I believe. It might be part of an arrangement where the Big Ten helped them pay some of their exit fee. So indirectly, Iowa is subsidizing ISU...what nu?

If I'm not mistaken the recent deal gives ISU 20 million a year for 1st/2nd tier rights with a potential to increase up to 3 to 4 million more if the realignment does happen and the conference goes up to 12 teams with a championship game. Although not the same as the Big 10, it certainly is a good increase for ISU>

Iowa hardly subsidized ISU. NU was lucky to not have to pay the full buyout that could have been enforced (what you saw with mizzou and a&m)

Yet theyll still pull the old bait and switch on hotdog night.
