Iowa targeting Juco PF Dale Jones

Haven't heard of him. I'll have to trust Fran. I was hoping for someone 6'10" or bigger but who knows. Reggie Evans was a juco who came in and was a man among boys. If Reggie would have played 4 years at Iowa I don't think Aaron White would have the free throw record and Reggie would have a rebounding record that might not ever e broken. My comment about not having heard of Dale Jones is not a slight on him, there's very few juco's I do know. I hope he comes to Iowa and sets the world on fire.

Reggie Evans - 405 FTM in 2 seasons averaging 6.5 FTM per game and shot 63%.
Aaron White - 618 FTM in 4 seasons averaging 4.4 FTM per game and shot 77%.

Sports-Reference.com has Reggie at 5.9 FTM/g.

So, assuming his 1st and 2nd year numbers would have been a little lower, it would be close but Reggie would probably still have it. I just really didn't remember him getting that many FTs per game.

Not sure that's an accurate comparison. I thought Jones was > 40% from 3 at Tyler? Saw him originally listed at 205 lbs. as well but even if he's 220 he's probably not as much of a brawler underneath as Reg was.
The few highlights I've seen show him shooting 3s from pretty good range. It doesn't mean he can't play inside and rebound but the film didn't show that.

You're talking free throws attempted, right? Not made?
Attempted is right. Reggie was no Aaron White when it came to making free throws. One other thing on Reggie was he could have had an incredible amount of and one's but he had small hands and didn't finish well when he got hacked.

Nobody said this at all, and it takes a pretty stupid person to come to that conclusion with the posts that have been posted.......so actually not surprising at all that you would think this.

Then why is everyone talking about Reggie Evans in a Dale Jones thread? I'm not coming to any conclusions, just trying to keep my posts status quo.

The only comparison that I know about is they play the same position and they both went to junior college. Reggie wasn't much of a shooter, but he was a physical force. I think the NBA players once voted him one of the most dirty players in the league, if my memory serves me correctly. Its going to be fun to watch Jones, Hutton, Fleming, Uhl, Woodbury, and Uthoff playing the center, power forward, and small forward positions. I guess their is a walk on that's suppose to be good too. I've heard a lot about Fleming, but I think Hutton is right around the same size. Hopefully, they both will grow a couple of inches and put on about twenty pounds before they get to Iowa. They are definitely both athletic.

Yes, I don't know how I messed up the number when my career records thread shows it correctly...

That's simply a fail on my part. Either way, Reggie would have probably beaten out White with 2 more years.

Dale Jones does not = Reggie Evans lol. Reggie is arguably one of the best rebounders in NBA history when it comes down to the advanced statistics and rebounds per minute.

Jones appears to be a stretch 4 that can shoot the 3 ball with decent size. Little is known about his ability to defend in the post or attack the rim up to this point.

I'll trust Fran if he believes Jones is the best option for much needed post depth.

Dales Jones = Reggie Evans. Exciting stuff.
Typical cyfan again spinning the truth to make something up. Saying you'd like to have somebody who plays like that and saying he is that is two different things. Only when you're at home on fantasy Island do fans believe delusional things. Shouldn't you be at cyfan discussing how the football team is going to win the Big 12 now that CPR has his players fully invested and this is the year the OL becomes dominant. As always clicheLOSERname is over here trying to hang with big brother. It's only right now that Iowa clearly has the better football and basketball teams. Remember how a couple of years ago all the cyfans were claiming they were premium school in the state because of their football and basketball teams. How's that working out for you now. I see the cyfans are already making excuses for their loss versus San Jose State in 2016.

I guess ISU doesn't teach reading comprehension classes. Probably gets in the way of your human-animal mating classes.

Cliche is just embarrassed that his fellow Cyclone fans were comparing Niang to Larry Bird, and Morris to Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo. He feels the need to make **** up to try and make it seem like people are comparing Jones to Reggie Evans.

Listen Clown. According to your logic you could now say Jones = stupid *ucking Clown troll, because I mentioned you in this thread. I mean you are an annoying *ucking Clown troll, everyone knows this.....yet you used to put some effort into your trolls, this is just sad and smells about like a Forever post that just smack of stupidity and ignorance.
