Iowa stopped again for Big Ten player award | TheGazette

From article:

Marble, a junior, has scored 58 points in Iowa’s last three games to help Iowa earn its first three-game Big Ten winning streak since 2007. Marble averages a team-high 13.6 points per game.

Michigan guard Trey Burke, who averaged 23.5 points last week in a 23-point loss at Michigan State and an eight-point home win against Penn State, took the league honors for the fourth time this season.

I'm curious about what he means by "again" Was there another time this yr that he was in the running for i too? I think this wks award could have went either way. Altho I would have went with Marble. If for no other reason then he had 2 great games and 1 ok game and won all 3 compared to what Burke did. Bigger name gets it. I suppose it's the BiGs way of campaining for him for player of the year by sprucing up his resume.

Seriously you do not understand what the word again means?

I'm sure he understands the meaning of "again". He's curious as to how it fits in this context, as am I. Iowa hasn't really had POW-type performances for most of the year. Saying they got stopped "again" implies that Iowa has gotten shafted more than once this year. I don't think they have, and I don't think they did here.

Tom Crean was pretty ticked off about Burke winning the award this week. While not calling him out, he questioned the criteria for selecting the winner and wondered where winning was placed in the criteria. Considering Burke won the award despite his team's rather poor play this last week, he felt Zeller (likely) should have won it.

From the way I read the article it was singling out Marble not so much the whole Hawks team. As in he had been hosed out of winning it more than once. I couldn't think of another week this yr where he was in the running for it. If someone else knows when that was and who got it instead I'm curious to know if that was the case is all. Thanks TM3308 that is exactly how I meant that.

I wonder if they might have been referring to the game against UNI? He put up 30 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks.

You have not been paying attention then.
