Iowa should have hired Rick Pitino

according to some woman that just called SoundOff... What a joke. Keith and Andy tried to keep a straight face while saying "Why would Rick Pitino come to Iowa?" She swore up and down he would come here, and that the AD (she did not know his name) should be fired for not getting him here. I really wish idiots like her would stop giving Iowa fans a bad wrap!
 
I heard that too. That's why Iowa fans have a bad name with a lot of people. Please, if you're going to represent us, get a clue!
 
Could not agree more. More Iowa fans in this state than any other school equals more idiots than any other school, I guess. Just makes me shake my head and yell at the TV like the caller can hear me! :)

Pitino... pffffttt. What has he done lately. We should have hired Bill Self. I heard the KU fans want him gone after that god awful performance against UNI. He could bring that Dooley guy with him and hire Forbes as his Associate Assistant HC. If you haven't heard of Forbes, he is Pearl's lead asst. at Tennessee in charge of recruiting. He is from Lone Branch, Iowa, I think. How cool is that! We could get that Selby kid from Maryland (his Mom really loves Forbes) along with the guys Self and Dooley would bring with them. We could have gotten BJ Armstrong as another Asst. with Bobby Hansen as Director of Basketball Operations. This would make us competitive again.

And if Forbes doesn't want to come, you could easily talk Jamie Dixon into coming to Iowa. Maybe even Jay Wright. They would definitely come to Iowa just to be assistants! No doubt about it!

I like the way you think! My sources say that Billy Donovan isn't happy with his contract, and that we could get him as an assistant as long as he is next in line for the HC. I was going to say that I really liked that Drew guy at Baylor until he lost that game against Duke today, now he isn't qualified. But look at all the exciting possibilities we have come up with!

Yeah, I was excited about him at first. But he couldn't even beat Michigan St. to get to the Final Four with their best player out. So I crossed him off my list - Not Qualified. It really came down to Bill Self and Jerry Tarkanian for me.
 
I forgot... we need to find a place for Les Jepsen on staff as well. Hopefully this new guy McAffretity will find room on his staff for Les. Maybe we can get Settles from that high school he is working for to come up as a tudor or life counselor or something. I mean, he played ball for Iowa for like 8 or 9 years or something. Who knows Iowa City better the Jess!
