Iowa safeties making some $$$$$

Watching Considine, wish Sanders could play (but he is still getting paid), then add in Godfrey (Was Corner/Safety at IA), Spievey, Paschal started the yr on a roster...Fletch may be the best of the bunch, although he is playing CB for the Rams (Future Safety, IMO)...

Others who played for KF and staff and got paid to play safety on Sundays:
Bowen
Pagel
DJ Johnson?
 




I think Pagel had three years in the league and pushed $1mil total comp.

It has been a good position for Iowa players.
 


1 million Gross = approx. 600k net after taxes and agent fees

That's a nice home paid in full and a little extra for the bank. Great way to start a life in the "real world."

Just goes to show how bad DJK's situation has been hurt financially because he had at least this coming to him. I feel bad for the guy.

DJK will get at least that much. The arrest might keep him from getting drafted, but he will get picked up by somebody, and he'll stick as a slot receiver (much longer than 3 years).

It's usually the corners that take the "beating" from fans. We don't move very many corners into the league that stay at corner once they get there. Several have moved to safety, but all that means is that they didn't have fluid enough hips to turn and run with NFL receivers. Fletcher is the only guy recently that's stuck at corner (and he's done very well there). On another note, does Benny Sapp count?
 


Lots of safeties in the NFL, not too many corners.

Both Godfrey and Spievey played corner at Iowa and were moved to safety at the next level.

Any KF players actually play corner at the next level, besides Fletcher? I don't think DJ Johnson counts, not sure he actually played.

The most successful has been Benny Sapp.
