This is Fant's last year at Iowa. Hopefully the younger Ferentz doesn't Sh*t the bed and puts the athletes in the right positions to make plays.
I would agree with your first comment...he's likely turning pro if he has a another good year. However, this is where my agreement with your lovely analogy diverges. It's a hard to think Brian "shit the bed" as you so eloquently communicated...when the guy in question led the nation in touchdowns at his position, and had a spectacular year in the red zone. I would say he put Fant in a position to be successful. My belief is that Brian's first year was marred by injury on the offensive line, and the fact that he had a first year QB. Let's give him year two to see if the offense improves. I think it does.
