So apparently I can't embed Hudl highlight videos in the new system at SI.I didn't see a link to the highlights but coach Betts is earning his pay right out of the chute. The list of offers was quite impressive. Awesome get Coach Betts!
Ladell Betts.here is my question by the time he gets here .. who will he learn the ropes from ? playing experience wise,
Well hopefully some of the younger guys will develop and be able to show him the ropes.Awesome, Huge get ... not to be a Debbie Downer, but, here is my question by the time he gets here .. who will he learn the ropes from ? playing experience wise, Goodson and Martian will be gone.....the 2 Williams have only seen a small bit of mop up duty.. and maybe the same this year Hillison the kid from Des Moines North will most likely red shirt. .....so he could have to come in as a true frosh and see big time minutes..
thoughts?
He received most of those offers after his sophomore year. He is back down to his soph weight and has been tearing camps all summer. We did luck out to pick him up when we did, because I am not sure some of those offers would stay uncommitable.Interesting. Huge offer list, yet he was really stoked about receiving the Iowa offer. Either Iowa has a great reputation for developing RBs for the next level that reaches down to FL, or perhaps a lot of those offers were not committable.
He mentions that he put on 20-30 lbs during the pandemic, and played at that weight last fall. He basically became a power-back, running primarily between the tackles. Did some of those early-offer schools cool on him (Rutgers offered him when he was a freshman)?
It sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder, and Iowa probably got in at just the right time. He has experience running between the tackles, but also showed the explosiveness to earn all of those offers. Hopefully he will follow TGood as another great get from SEC country.
