Monday night be damned. I'm gonna pour a drink, watch the game and salute Norm. Bball...football...it doesn't matter.

It's great to be a Hawkeye.

"Craft has such defensive instincts, that is why he is the career steals leader."

We should have made it a drinking game every time Kellogg said Craft.

Kellogg had a lot of good things to day about the Hawks. Near the end of the game he said that he has watched the Hawks since last year and thinks that they can win the Big Ten this year.....

As mentioned before, he said that his favorite college basketball player to watch is Aaron White.;;;;

Clark Kellogg is one of the very best announcers along with Jay Bilas. They are fair and extremely knowledgeable.....

The game is on again from 3 to 5 AM.....

Set your alarm clocks....

Jack...why you gotta do that to me. :D

And yes...Kellogg is one of the best. No B.S...he doesn't suck up to anybody. The guy knows ball and he tells it as he sees it. Always enjoyed CK.

I DVR'd the game yesterday and I've already watched the game two more times. It's all I've got to get me by until Sunday.

I watched it again last night. I think the play of the game was the "near steal" of the ball by OSU where White ran it down in the back court (and may have gotten away with an offensive foul) dribbled back, spun around and hit a running jumper off of the glass to make it 74 - 68. If he doesn't get that loose ball and it goes the other way ... well, let's just say that I'm sure glad he made that play.

Basabe was a man among boys in the last 3:22.

We still have problems with the offense going stagnant for long stretches. That will probably catch up to us at an inopportune time. Also, there was a point when the game was tight - both teams in the 60's, IIRC, where Marble missed the front end of a 1 aand 1, fortunately Uthoff snagged that rebound. He only made the first of the two. Then, shortly thereafter, someone else only made 1 of 2 free throws.

Thankfully, we made an overwhelming percentage from there on in, but it sure felt like a free throw line failure there for a little while in crunch time. Basically, we only made 2 points out of a possible 6. Hopefully, the rest of the game exorcised those demons for this team, permanently.

Ohio State also helped Iowa out by missing a couple of wide open 3 pointers down the stretch. Those were shots that Wisconsin was making on Iowa which lead to a loss while Ohio State misses them, another big difference.

On the other hand, WI was not playing the D that OSU was. There were a few times when Marble could barely set a dribble down vs Craft. We gave WI 4 free points and the ball on technicals at a key moment in their house.

To me, the sequence that was key was when Iowa was down 9 in the second half. Dev hits two free throws to cut it to 7, and then after a stop, Oglesby made a great play when he caught the ball, up-faked on the shot, made a couple of dribbles, jump-stopped and kicked it out to MikeyG for an open three that cut the lead to 4. Then in short order Josh, Aaron and Jarrod all hit three pointers and the game was now there for Iowa to win. That pass by Olgesby came when Iowa was in a shooting drought, and it opened up a clean look for MikeyG. Huge.

Huge, indeed, and Josh and Zach were demons on D. Ohio State was scared the last 3/4 minutes. One of their three point artists hit the net in the last two minutes. Our swarming D completely confused them......

.

We are leading the Big Ten in scoring and are top ten nationally. Scoring, or lack there of, is not an issue for this team.

I have it on DVR and after the postgame coveraged wrapped up on Sunday and went back and watched the last 12 or so minutes again. I started it when the Hawks were down 53-44 and Borat was called for a foul on Marble.
