Iowa opens as a 2 point favorite

I ain't touchin' this one. I could see it/us going so many different directions this week.
Yeah, I don't give a shit if Penn State is 0-4, I don't believe that Kurt has beaten them since JoePa got run out of town. They have athletes. This could easily be the week they get it on track and we lose by a bundle.

PSU fell way behind Neb because their crappy QB committed 2 turnovers. Once PSU pulled their QB, the backup QB almost pulled off an amazing comeback.

If the new QB starts against Iowa, then all bets are off.

If the players stop dropping passes, and SP throws good balls, and others stop missing blocking assignments and Brian is on his game, I think Iowa can win.

If PSU finds a run game, somewhere, and stops with the completions to the wrong colored jerseys and generally finds some kind of consistency, they could maybe win. Book it!

This will be a very interesting game. QB Levis gives the Nits a power running game from their QB, similar to Tebow. The Hawks will try to do what they always do -- make PSU one-dimensional -- and I think they can stop their running game. It was a huge advantage for the Hawks to see their backup QB and what he can do on the ground -- Nebraska was at a real disadvantage having not seen that before the 2nd half of their game. We now have tape, and In Phil I Trust. Take away their ground game and make Levis beat you from the pocket. I'd be surprised if Penn St. scores over 20 pts. They showed a very soft defensive scheme vs Nebraska, but I expect vs the Hawks they'll load the box and force Petras to beat them. I frankly don't know why MN didn't do that.

If the hawks make the bounces go their way, turnovers, penalties, special teams etc I think they win by 9 or better.

PSU will be pumped for sure after their good 2nd half against Nebby. But in the first half Nebby ran all through and around them and had receivers open in the pass game. I think Iowa can do that throughout the game making plays but can they string the plays together to get TDs and FGs. Yes, on defense dont let them get that qb -rb option run going and hit that qb hard to hold him to short gains. He is a decent passer but not Montana.

Listen...this is not the Penn State rushing attack of previous years. They needed a Sequan Barkley to beat us in 2018. There is no Barkley on this roster, not even close to one...and they aren't rushing the ball very well. Our biggest concern in the running game will be Levis. He's a big dude and he was falling forward for an extra two or three yards against Nebraska. That being said...we have played this type of offense really well lately. My thinking is that our run defense will be able to make them one dimensional. The question become, again, whether we can rush the passer and force Levis into mistakes.

I was not impressed with Penn State's defense either. Nebraska had moved the ball well the entire day...and our OL is better than Nebraskas and we have better skill positions.

Petras just needs to make the easy plays and easy throws. If he doesn't turn it over and make a bunch of mistakes...I think we win.

Give me Iowa -2. It is a homer pick, but this is the game I hope the PSU team quits on Franklin.

I remember All PSU QB's under Franklin being good runners. That's how Clifford beat us at least time. And before him Trace McSorley.

This game is all about coach BF: expect an 8 man box and PSU blitzes, blitzes, and more blitzes! Screens, wheel routes, quick outs, and SLANTS! If he doesn't call at least 5 slants and slant-and-goes, I'm going to fire him. Please don't beg me not to. Have a good day.

Agreed. As unimpressive as PSU's offense looked in the first half vs Nebraska, I thought their defense looked even moreso. They just didn't look physically like some Penn St. defenses do, and their LBs and DBacks seemed to consistently be out of position. This is a team Iowa should beat.

Damn dude, if the Iowa bus arrives at the stadium we have a 50/50 shot. Your in depth analysis still leaves it at 50/50
