Iowa @ Nebraska

Agree, Grothus and DSJ both got handled. No offense from either of them, aside from the last garbage time takedown neither really had taken a shot. Big wake up call for DSJ, need to produce more offense. Green is too good.

I don't get how Brands preaches getting after it in the first period yet the boys never come out firing on all cylinders. DSJ is a prime example of this and he waited until the 3rd to try anything.

Evans the same, guy can move with the best of them but has NO offense. He's just good enough to lose close.

I liken EL to Tsirtsis when he was here. You spend four years waiting for the breakout but it just never happens. Brooks brings some much needed "life to the upper weights. Brooks has earned the spot IMO. I'm so frickin sick of watching most of these guys push action but not shoot or have any real offense.

DSJ just lost to this years national champion. You can tell he works with Burroughs, same blast double. I don't think anyone will touch Green dude is too damn quick.
Green is a tough match up for DSJ, but he's susceptible to losing to "lesser" wrestlers because he gasses late in the match. Hopefully DSJ places higher at B1Gs so Green and Dieringer are on the other side of the bracket at NCAAs.

Yep -- a #1 seed would be key for DSJ. I like Dieringer's chances of knocking off Green in the semis if they end up #2 and #3. Green is pretty close to kryptonite for DSJ. Seeds will be huge for DSJ's repeat title hopes. At this point, I'd consider any win for DSJ over Green an upset.

Couldn't disagree with you more. First, Tsirtisis was a 1 time AA and EL is more than likely going to be a 3 timer. Second, no way has Brooks earned the spot. While I agree EL can be maddening to watch at times, Brooks was just straight up sloppy last night. EL has a good chance of being in the finals this year if he's only the other side of Ruth.

Green is kryptonite to DSJ? That seems a bit dramatic and an obvious exaggeration. I'm not even sure if we watched the same match yesterday.

Well I think we can agree that if he doesn't have more offense he will NOT beat Green. It was an old fashioned butt kicking. He didn't stop Green's offense all match.

You're dead on with that thought. He sat back too much in the first and Green caught him. If it weren't for that one takedown in the first and the challenge called by Manning, Green was done for. He gets too tired to fast. If they meet at Nationals I full expect DSJ to beat him.
