He looks like he's added some good weight as well. For a kid who came in looking like a scrawny beanpole he must have really worked hard to bulk up. Sounds like Dom Uhl did too though I haven't seen anywhere that confirmed this.
I don't know who writes this stuff, but Hawkeye fans and the
BIG10 are FULLY aware of Jarrod Uthoff, after last season.
The only player in America with 50 Blocked shots, 50 3 pointers isn't exactly
rookie.
Jarrod should be considered All American by any Basketball fan with an ounce of
reason.
Your observation is correct. Per Iowa's official roster, Uthoff was 210 pounds last year and is now 220. Uhl has gained the most, 195 last year and now 216. Not the type of weight increases we see in the offensive lineman on the football team but still good weight to add for b-ball.

Jarrod Uthoff is plenty skilled to be considered an All American candidate.
Doesn't take a Brain scientist / Rocket surgeon to figure it out.
Well, maybe if you are Todd Lickliter, or apparently some posters on HN, it may..........
Never the bolded. Uthoff may rebound and attempt to defend down low but never will he post up. That's just not in his DNA. He isn't good at it. Besides, why take the best shooter Iowa has from the outside and the best creator of his shot Iowa has and bring him closer to the basket where he's more vulnerable (and hackable)? What other player in the country has his size and skillset? And the coach that will turn him loose in a system that will let them run and gun? The guy can shoot pull up 3s in transition and now that he's put on some more weight he'll only be better at posting up. He comes off screens to catch and shoot at the elbow like a 2 guard. He can be as good and unstoppable as he wants to be. All American status should be a very attainable goal at the end of the year for him. When teams play us he is who they will center their game plan around plain and simple.
I don't think they'll do it a lot and make it a mainstay of the offense. But say against Indiana and they try putting that little Yoggi guy on him I think they'd do it more and with more success. I think he wasn't that good at it because he was such a string bean. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's all of a sudden going to be Barkley down there. But he'll take advantage of mismatches and get more touches down there then last year.Never the bolded. Uthoff may rebound and attempt to defend down low but never will he post up. So do probably 30 or so other players in the country. Being a candidate is a lot different than being a guy that any fan with half a brain would consider an all-american.
