Kirk and Ken are giving the upcoming Big Ten teams something to look at now. Play a quick pace in the 1st half and maybe wear their D's out late in the 2nd half...cough, cough, Northwestern better be paying attention.

If I had to bet, I would bet 44 is the first half high of Ferentz era. Iowa didn't do much no huddle in 2004..they went a lot of shotgun...but not the hurry up pace

28 plays in the first half against MSU, 58 for the game. Iowa had 18 first downs against MSU...Iowa had 18 first downs in the first half today

Not a lot I saw to be critical of. Definitely missed some blocks and didn't catch the ball a few times, but otherwise that was about as fluid and productive as I can recall a KF/KOK offense. Today's offense came out and did what they should have done. Just a very, very pleasant surprise. And fantastic play calling. Give credit where credit is due - this coaching staff made some changes and adjustments, and they deserve credit. That was impressive.

For as little as we ran the ball in '04, Tate didn't have many, if any games with 40+ pass attempts. We were truly a ball-control passing outfit that year.
