Iowa is on top of the college basketball world

In mid February.... I've been waiting my entire life as an Iowa fan for this. I love this teams fight. I love that we have 2 absolutely brutal killers in Jok and Uthoff. I love that we have toughness on defense, 2 experienced pg's to run the show, a tough center who rebounds and a bench that can come in and spot our stars and not be a complete liability. 5 regular season games left, we win the B1G if we win 4 of them and there might even be a bigger margin for error depending on the rest of the league. This is what Iowa fans have been waiting for, that time is now and here. The program has never been on more stable footing and has more recruiting leverage right now than it's had since the 80's. Iowa is a great basketball team and it's great to be a Hawkeye!

I love to see Iowa as a top ten team, but I think it's time to pump the breaks. Squeaking out a win at home over an 0-12 team, with a lack of defense and no bench production last night or Thursdayis alarming.

However I agree it's nice to see Iowa as part of the national conversation, just like the football team this fall.

You pump those breaks and I'll sit and enjoy the ride instead of being alarmed over something that is not within my control.

Iowa is good at basketball, one the best in the entire country and nothing YOU say will change my mind about that.

Why pump the brakes? If anything the football team taught us too enjoy the ride. Iowa is LEADING the Big Ten right now, winning the Big Ten regular season hasn't happened since the 70s! This is the most fun I've had being a Hawkeye fan in a long time.

The glass-half-empty folks seems to have reached an all-time high recently. Here, Twitter, all over. It's stunning!

Every single year you can point to close losses or close wins that elite teams should have been able to avoid. Call it playing down to your opponent, call it tough places to play, call it the best conference in basketball. Whatever you call it, who cares.

A win is a win.

I hope we can win the BIG title! REGULAR season, not tourney title. I've been waiting for that since I started watching Iowa basketball in 1981. I want it bad.

Right on. This is as good of a season as I've seen in a long, LONG time.. Especially after the Alford and Lick years, I'm going to enjoy this ride as far as it will take me.

Last night's game wasn't pretty but it's still a W, and the Hawks are still alone in first place. I can't complain until they start losing games they shouldn't.

pump your own fucccccccccccccccccccing breaks, 6 games left to the regular season and we're #1 team in the B1G. What does it take to make you happy?

From here on out, we are going to get everyone's A game as witnessed last night. Having Woodbury in foul trouble hurt and allowed Minnesota to stay in contact the 1st half. Pitino called some great timeouts to take the crowd out of it and run a set play that resulted in points after the TO. Can't understand why Minnesota is 0-13 as they have some players and ran some great sets which we haven't seen the Hawks give up this year. They broke the press far easier than we have seen other teams.

That being said, it was a W and that is all that matters as they gutted it out.

I think people are forgetting that these are 18-22 year old college students. A lot goes into a grind of a season..traveling, classes/finals, practices everyday. We are competing against other Division 1 athletes who have also played basketball their entire lives basically. We are leading one of the toughest conferences in College Basketball with 5 games left in the regular season with our only 2 losses coming in tough road environments where IU and Maryland were throwing the kitchen sink at us cause they were MUST win games.

I understand we should've probably beat Minnesota by 15+ at home. But I bet it's hard to get excited to play an 0-12 team in conference on a Sunday night. We won the game and that's all that matters. We aren't going to blow every team out so get used to it. Besides, Minny has played almost everyone tough they just can't finish. Relax and try to enjoy this season instead of expecting to win every game by 20 the rest of the season and cake walk to the Final Four. It's almost March, we aren't the only hungry team in America with talent

Sports are serious and i will freak out because my team is only barely winning the Big ten
